General Managers
We will always keep to our original belief that the best pubs are individual and
unbranded, with real character and a strongly local feel. To make this possible,
our managers are given genuine autonomy in running their pubs. They make the offer
unique and just right for the location and, because all our pubs are free of tie,
they can offer their customers a very broad range of premium products. Wherever
we are the aim is to be the best pub in the area.
Our reward package for General Managers is among the most competitive in the industry,
with a unique bonus based on a monthly paid share of the pubs profit. General Managers
are also granted share options after 6 months.

Assistant Managers
Our Assistant Managers are delegated a lot of responsibility and are highly valued
as our managers of the future. 10 of our 26 General Managers started either on the
bar or as Assistants and we aim to increase this number. We invest heavily in training
our assistant managers and have a management development programme which is great
fun and very highly regarded.

Head Chefs
All our pubs serve fresh food, prepared on site and all our menus are developed
to suit the location and type of pub. Head Chefs enjoy the freedom to be creative
and have a big say in what they cook. The working hours are pretty good as well.
